It's all a matter of preference. Ask a friend who has one of each and play with it, see what you like the best, and then buy that one. Not what some ignoramus on the internet THINKS you should buy.
nothing to do with hate, S4 (and even S3) is better than iphone 5 by any objective measure...
If you considered crappy plastic better than aluminum, perhaps.
And you don't need Swype on iOS (but something simlar is available if you Jailbreak). I don't even have to look at the screen and messages are 90% accurate.
I think the iPhone is good, but I refuse to be another robot with an Apple logo on my phone. I'm also not a big fan of being trapped in Apple world. Android is more open.
I have an iPad, but its very lonely in my PC ecosystem.
Android if ya wanna tweak/fuck with everything like a 20 year old, iPhone if ya just wan't shit to work without crashes and don't mind a little bit of restrictions.
Android if you do not want to be trapped in apple's world which cause you all sorts of inconveniences. And of course if you don't want to look like brainwashed tool (thats how people think when they see apple users)
about a month ago i was at a get together with drinks and smokes and one of guys takes out a red samsung galaxy of what i think was actually the s4, the latest one. i ask him whether i can hold it and i do but i press buttons accidently in my hand when handling it and i make mistakes on the touch screen. i see touch screens elsewhere and i just dread them because they never work as they should without the user knowing really how.
so i told him his phone is a joke and i might be right, the interface of the windows 8 os just looks so supreme over the competition, a must see, and also you only need to spend just over two hundred dollars to get it on the huawei ascend.

win8 mobile is top OS for phones, smooth and nice. But Huawei ascend W1 is very ugly, better get some HTC 8s or some 620 Lumia for similar price.
I always said android, and I have one, but it was an epic fail overseas. Here is my android story and why I have to switch now......
I was at TES in Sitges, Spain in Feb. and our wifi at the hotel was very spotty. Kira was with me and her iphone seemed to have very little issue while my droid was barely getting signal. We are both on Verizon. Others with iphones seemed much less affected than we on the droids as well.
This pissed me off to no end because when I got my droid I told Verizon I needed a phone that always worked when I travel out of the country. I did say I wanted a full keyboard but the priority was a phone that got wifi everywhere I traveled. When I got home I called Verizon furious that I had the issue and demanded to know why (i'm a woman, give me a break). The guy looked and looked and finally said "oh, the iphone 4s and 5 can search through several frequencies or channels and find the best signal and the droid only has 1 option"
WTF?....... They tell me this now? So I'm due for an upgrade this month and going to see if the Galaxy can match that feature in the iphone. if not, I have no choice but iphone. I have to be able to get on the web from my phone. the end
^ not sure how verizon (or any provider) is relevant on how good/bad certain phone catches WIFI signal
I just felt that the sales guy should have known the features when he could have sold me either phone and I said priority #1 was a phone that gets me on the web no matter where I travel. not that any phone can accomplish that but obviously the customer service guy found the info quickly when I called wanting to know why Kira's iphone worked fine and I got shit for signal.

one can always get good coverage around here. don't you just hate it when you have a problem with something and you need official help but there is a language barrier because nowadays what is happening is there are cheaper employees overseas in call centres in countries where english is not their first language?
just get a huawei ascend w1, and the w2 is in development still so look out for that too, that will be running windows 8. don't listen to that guy above, it isn't ugly, it is actually rather practical.
I've had the iphone for years, and decided to switch to the Samsung galaxy s3. The screen was beautiful, very clear, bright images, better than iphone. Larger screen and it played flash which is fantastic since my site has flash videos and a flash chat room.
But I fucking hated the usability of it. Anytime I wanted to do something it required extra steps and I found it to be a pain. and then it started fucking up and throwing errors (Google's shitty programming?) so I returned it and got an iphone 4s.
Love my 4s.
I wish the screen were bigger and it played flash, but otherwise its perfect for me
no need to type or swype, the new Samsung galaxy S4 has a great voice typing..voice is one of the options with swype.
I put my new S4 beside my friends iphone 5...no comparison...the S4
that's the phone I want to switch to. do you happen to know if it can search various wifi connections like the iphone does? I need to find out the technical term for this feature but I know for sure my droid has only 1 place to look.
don't know, but it appears to be the best android phone on the market and I ran a benchmark test on it and it blows everything else away
