Ok, I know a lot of people put ads in the local papers for models... Has anyone ever just approched someone who had a killer body?

If so, did you feel like a total perv?

Ok, I am no spring chicken... I am 38 and I approched this girl about modeling and I felt like a dirty old man...

This ever happen to anyone? I know there are some of you out there close to my age.... or have you been in the business so long that it does not effect you anymore?

I know what your talking about I am lucky having a wife , who does alot of the recruiting . For some reason a female talking to a female gives more creditablity. There are so many slime out there representing themselves as photographers , its very hard to rise about the noise.

Yep, I also know what you mean... I'm 30 and I have biz cards made up that I give out. You're better off finding a cute girl to do your "work"... your results will be better. When I first got in this biz, I didn't care. If you talk to 10 girls, 1 will call... law of averages works for ANYTHING in life

Here are the ways I have found models...

1.) MY girlfriend, and a friend I once dated. (Similarly, the girlfriend of a friend is now also a model.)

2.) Through model portfolio websites.

3.) Responses to a page on my site requesting models.

4.) Word of mouth from my other models.

Approaching a stranger and asking her to take her clothes off for money is a risky business. A few will be truly upset, and in almost every other case you will be very embarassed.

It takes a special kind of guy (or preferably girl) to pull it off. Someone who is relaxed about it, and has charisma enough to pull it off.

I think I was more embarassed then she was... I never actually got to the nude part.. I thought I would gradually ease into that and start with some bikini, lingerie then nude if I felt she would be willing.

By the way, early on in the process of finding girls for Blood Dolls, I did ask a random stranger. I was beet red by the time I finished the sentence, and she gave me a pretty flat "no".

I have talked to a friend I have not seen in months and she wants to get something started... I think she will be real good at that.

Once you get started, offer all of your models a finder's fee for any new model they send your way who you actually end up shooting. (To be paid the next time you shoot them.)

All told, between three different people working for us, in the past two years we've only photographed one girl that we just walked up to and introduced ourselves too.

If your 21 years old you might have much better luck than me; You hang out with 21 year old girls and know them as "friends" or "a friend of a friend".

Newspaper ads work best for us. We are trade models with other companies locally, and of course if one model has a cute girlfriend they'll tell them all about us.

networking through your existing stable of models.

Ask men to pose naked and triple the fee if they can bring a babe that will do hardcore as well on camera, usually if the guy is that freaky, He may have some babes that he can call on.

From there its all about the network

Don't know any models that do this..... So networking might not be the way for me...

As for guys, I only want to do softcore.... Hardcore is not my taste. I know it's not about what I like... it's the customer... but since I will be doing all of the design at first... I have to be able to work with the content...

For me to create good design, I ahve to be into what I am working on... Even in my mainstream business, I have learned never take a job where I cannot get excited about the project... otherwise the design and my rep suffers.

I was thinking about running an add in one of the alternative newspapers out here that said something to the effect of..

Seeking Women Over 18 for Adult Modeling but i dont know how that would work...

Finding a good steay stream of models is essantial to be a good porn photographer, only a few people want to see the same girl time after time.

All the above methods work, it depends how you do them. But if you're embarrassed to talk to them in the street, how do you work with them when they are naked and a vibrator or two inside them.

One thing I found does help when approaching girls. I start off with I have to ask you something and please at the very least be flattered. I found at leeast they then smiled at me when they said no lol.

b) Put window adverts in the newsagents near to these places.
c) Wait for a cash starved whore to ring you who wants to suck your dick.

Failing this get your best mate to dress up as a women. I have been doing this one for years and no-one has noticed.

The girls who respond to ads, or otherwise contact me, are in the small minority of people who wouldn't freak out at the idea. Seems pretty simple. Once you know they are cool with it, no awkwardness.

I didn't think so either, but while going through Sunday's Arizona Republic... I did see one...

"Adult Entertainment... Money motivated girls wanted call.... "

Something to that effect.... I know the New Times and alternative mag here in Phoenix... and a few other cities allow this. Pretty cheap too, I think 50.00 for two weeks for a printed ad and an on-line ad.

I may try this.

For the most part, girls who are interested in adult modeling want their money up-front. Offering a percentage of something that sounds big might get their attention, but not what you are talking about. Also, getting into a "partnership" with a model is something you will want to give serious thought to.

I am meeting with a friend tomorrow, she wants to sell content like I do and we are going to try to get something off the ground. She has some girls that are interested, but we are both in the same boat as far as cash flow.

very smart When I hired a woman to do the job your wife does. we did much better on the "street"

We get a few hundred model submissions a week, although of course not all of them are geographically convenient or people I would want to shoot. I think we find the best models when one of us walks up to someone and asks them to shoot or a model comes up to one of us and asks to be shot. Then you know what they really look like and what their personality might be like shooting. Online submissions always run the risk of ancient pic, bad pic of incredible girl, brilliant pic of hideous girl, etc. I think in person contact is totally the best.

you put in ad in alternative press or local college newspaper offering a position of "model recruiter"---she is a "field rep" and works on commission only.

you want a social girl who goes out a lot, a partier---bi-girl, raver type chicks are best for this. the girl should be average looking, not a 10, as that intimidates too many prospects. you give the girl a cheap $200 digicam and she talks to girls, takes a quick digital pic, and emails it to you. you give her a "yes" or "no" as the pix come in.

your "field rep" has a sample portfolio of the type of photography you need---show some nudes, and girl/girl. do not show explicit or boy/girl at this point. make sure your sample images are classy and high quality (penthouse style is good)---the girl must believe that she will become beautiful by working with you.

you pay your field rep $100 for each girl you she brings you that you can shoot.

as you photograph girls, and it goes well, they bring you more girls, you pay these your models $50 for each referral.

do NOT hire a guy for this job.

I pay my models a bonus for introducing new girls - Recurring! Every time the new girl has a session, her referrer gets paid.

The good thing about this, is new girls know what they have to do.

yes, that is actually a very good way to do it. the new girl will also trust you from the friends experience with you.

I think this sounds like the most productive way of finding new models as soon as the college near me is back in full session i will try it.

I currently just place classified ads in the local papers and get a TON on responses but only 1-2% of the people that actually come in for interviews are useable. If you do try classified ads be ready for 30-50 calls a day from the dumbest people on the face of this earth.
