    Tube scraper scripts

    I'm looking for a work around when someone copy an url from a porn video (tube site) that it automatically finds the related image.

    Does anyone here has experience how the tubes do this. Is it similar on all the tubes or different per tube?

          cool, basically the thing is, member wants to create a new video, adds the url from a tube site and the embed code is generated. It should also fetch a matching image since i want to promote the member's new video.

          Do all the tubes have one similar structure/method in providing the matching image?

                  I don't know if it's true or not but it would seem that scraping tubes would mess up your SE position.

                              I have a service that I am building that indexes 16 tube sites that allow their videos to be embedded, I am opening it up soon to everyone, but right now it's in beta.                                   There is no way to get an image from an embed code short of having your server launch X, load the embed code on an html file in firefox, take a screenshot and then crop that part of the image out. By all means doable for a one-off site but kinda complicated... If you are doing it based on a video page url, you can check if the site has those opengraph tags or whatever they are called in the <head>

                                      Yeah, what I'd most likely incorporate for him is a system that would take the url he inputs and check my database for it and return the url of the thumbnail for him.

                                          My colleague already found a solution for this but its per tube case to find the matching thumb.
