unlock code for s4?

I just got the s4 and i am going out of the country and i called to get my unlock code but at&t told me the phone is to new and they cant get unlock codes for them yet

anyone unlock one yet?

I'm pretty sure AT&T was bullshitting you, they get the unlock codes from the manufacturer. I'd try again with another rep.

Isn't illegal to do this yourself now? Not sure what the penalty is or how they'd even enforce it...but isn't that the case now? Like they will let you unlock if you're off contract, but if you're on contract...you're locked to their service...because they subsidized the phone you just got.

I paid outright for it.

The rep said due to the phone being as new as it is I have to put in a request for this and it will take up to 14 days to get a code

Rogers in Canada now allows customers to get their phone unlocked (even if they are on a contract) if they are traveling to the US or another country so that they can use a service provider where thy are traveling to so they will not need to purchase a travel pack with minutes/texting/data. This is ONLY if they are traveling. If they tell Rogers that they want it unlocked so they can go to another cell provider in Canada that would be seen as a port out trigger and would not be allowed.

the charge for unlocking, at least with Rogers, is $50.

I don't have a code for ya, but I did happen to see an S4 in the store yesterday. If someone swapped my S3 for an S4 I would never know the difference - it looked and felt IDENTICAL - and the only reason I would upgrade mine is if i dropped it or something.

The screen is 1000x better

If you are reading a long document or page or looking at craigslist or something the smart scroll is amazing i just slighly tilt my head down as if i was reading a book and it just scrolls


it is way faster than my iphone


I am still trying to figure out the camera. WHen taking a picture of my kid i use the face default and it says its on it i take the picture and by the time i hit the picture her face is out of focus
