Is Cloudflare worth using?

Has it become something usable or is it still more trouble than it is worth?

I use it and it's great for what they charge. I do get occasional 504 errors but for the fees that charge, no complaints. :-)

Yep, the shitty shitty cheap one, works pretty well for schwam blogs and lunchtime sites

I used to do pretty well with the shared, probably some luck involved, depends on the neighbours
