I did but it was my whois email address (whois routed) not my account address.

Not sure if your's might be different. But email isn't perfect. By the way, you will probably still have to tell namecheap where you want that cash to go.

If it is above $100 you can use it as namecheap balance or withdraw it to paypal etc.
