There were a couple of seasons (like season 6) that were a little off, but the show is back in full force this season. Next season will be the last so it looks like they are pulling out the stops and planning on going out with a bang.

You know Hannah won't go quietly and will likely give up Dexter in an effort to avoid jail. The preview even shows LaGeurta arresting Dexter. She could stir up some real shit.

I thought the same thing at first, but then you have to wonder how Deb knew she wouldn't accidentally kill herself with the car crash.

But the show is stupid anyway, so I wouldn't put it past the writers. They think the audience is so dumb that we need to hear Dexter explain every last thought, in case we don't get it.

It drags a little bit. Season 5 was pretty much filler and unnecessary. You can almost skip it. Season 6 isn't great but really picks up in the last half of the episodes. This season (#7) has been excellent though. Probably the best since season 1.

It's a great show but I'm glad it's finally reaching a conclusion. It got stretched out about 2 or 3 seasons too long.

I agree. I thought that straight away. After the girlfriend came to essentially challenge Deb it was game on for her. I thought she did it to herself to either get her arrested or to trip Dexter into a place where he would kill her.
