Wordpress - mass delete categories plugin?

is there one? A plugin to mass delete categories? I did a search and could only find plugins to delte posts or tags, nothing seems to delete categories that i could find.

I used the mass delete plugin to remove the posts but the categories remained. i have 1500 categories to remove (!) the blog was fed by RSS feeds.

u can delete 10 or so at a time from wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=category with just a default installation

and u can sort by num of posts so u can delete all empty ones. theres prob a plugin to do that for u but unless u have loads and loads of categories won't take long

oh ok haha. just do an sql query tbh with that many if u cant find a plugin ;)

go to this page : /wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=category (your categories page)

at the top of the screen, hit the drop down menu (Screen Options). There you,ll see the option of how many categories to display on screen at once. Change the value to 100 or something higher.

Then just check the select all checkbox right beside the NAME column and apply the delete action.

Should take you about 30 seconds to go through 1500 categories IF you don't have to pick and choose which ones you want to keep.

thanks, i've never noticed the Screen Options tag before, that did the trick.
