I checked for some Long Island recipe 30 minutes ago on google, and i logged on facebook now, and i see ad: "Work for 10$/hr + commission on Long Island" lol they are fast now, but targeting sucks a bit
Yes. I just noticed yesterday after logging into a gmail account that we use for our fat girl site, not only was I seeing ads inside gmail for weight loss, but when I logged into Facebook via my PERSONAL account, I saw more weight loss ads. Yesterday was the first time I noticed this.
It's really spooky how invasive things have become.
Could you have found the long island recipes on a site with a FB like button? That could be it, instead of some cooperation between facebook and google, which i find unlikely.
Yes, their targeting just gets quicker. A while back I kept seeing HIV related ads; a subject I have never Googled in my life. Imagine my surprise at my next medical exam.
Facebook's ads are nowhere as great as Google's. At least, in terms of effectiveness and income. There is a bright spot though--people have been using FB ads for list building and adsense arbitrage. Not as smooth as pure google plays but the fact that a lot of people are doing them means that there might be enough money in it.
So annoying when you search for hotels in a specific country or city and every site you visit after that for weeks you get ads for hotels in that country/city on google, youtube, facebook etc
yea i was looking at some hosting company, after that i have seen the ads for that particular hosting company on every site i visited that has google ads.. the same is for facebook, pretty annoying!
