Photoshop Batch Processing Help Needed ???

    Help please...

I am putting a Action together in Photoshop 5.5... to process sets of pics with re sizing, watermarks ect...

Problem I am having is when I re size the horizontal pics 1600 high, the verticle pics come out at 2400 wide... I am sure there is a way to process them where the verticle ones dont come out so big...

    Any ideas anyone ?

Don't use re-size, use FILE > AUTOMATE > FIT IMAGE

Set both boxes to the largest size, for example 1000px. When Photoshop processes the batch, it'll crop the verticals to 1000px tall and the horizontals to 1000px wide.

When it comes to resizing/watermarking use this free software, easier than PS and faster I think

I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!

Hey Thanks Dean... but I am 99% sure it's doable with re size, sure I had it set up on my old computer (prior to it blowing up !)

You may be right. I've always done it like I described above - never had an issue.

          Good luck with it

Adobe Lightroom let's you set a max horizontal and vertical axis, add a watermark, and re-name/number your files (in addition to whatever other tasks you specify), all in one fell swoop...

              Integrates seamlessly with Photoshop too.

there are ways of doing this within actions.

                  But...

If youre doing one directory at a time. I just make it easy and resize one dimension at a time. Horizontal, then vertical. Portrait, then landscape. Easy. Just adjust your dimensions for each batch.
