    .htaccess tablet detection script?

anyone have a tablet detection script for htaccess?
I have a pretty generic one but want to separate tablets from the phones, yet can't seem to find anything that doesn't lump them together

      preferably
that's the htaccess I have as well but it lumps everything into one - phones and tablets. I have traffic coming in that's on hi-res Galaxy Nexus phones and what not but because I'm sending them to sponsor who does not separate them when they land on their site I need to do it

I do not have a tablet so excuse my ignorance, but are tablet owners really looking at the mobile versions of sites? It seems having such a large screen you would just look at the normal site.

Or is that the purpose of you wanting the separation script?

i guess it depends on the site, but if you detect just Android and redirect just based on that you'd throw every Android device into a mobile-only exeperience. iPad is easy to flag, Android with its gajillion flavors not so much I think

but the way badoinkcash is set up you have one link for phones, one for tablets. So i'll be sending Android mobile traffic i can't separate to a mobile lander

Unless you want to rework it every month, you'll probably be much, much better off leading the right CSS based on the display size.

are you redirecting mobile traffic or just sending to a mobile version of your site?

i would just make a responsive design based on the visitor, tablet, phone, regular
