Whats the problem? seriously. Bumping an old thread is a big deal why?

Has it ever occurred to anyone that bumping an old thread might justify something and continue to shed light on a problem that has never been laid to rest?

In the incidences that you mention, then no it shouldn't be a big deal. Some forums encourage it, others don't.
