statcounter vs analytics

is anybody elese getting such a wide range of results from statcounter and analytics

for a new site i created a couple of months back from the 25/2 till 11/3
statcounter...3,593 Unique Visits...8,469 Pageviews
analytics.......2,145 Unique Visits...8,797 Pageviews

why such different results ?

analytics v awstats never seem to come close to each other for me.

Analytics: Counts real "unique" visitors for the day.
Statcounter: Does not, their system is not that precise/accurate.

Analytics show the true traffic of your site.

only your own server stats will give you accurate data.

i'd believe analytics....

unless you're running a dedicated server for it, don't bother....it slows EVERYTHING down when you're using 100k+/day traffic
