I don't understand why anyone offers .flv these days. MP4 will play on every platform and can be encoded to very small sizes with great quality.
Anyone care to clue me as to why everyone is still using a format that doesn't work on all formats? Old habits die hard, or is everyone just following the pack? Or am I missing some vital piece of information regarding flv use?
Ya it seems like there really no right or wrong on this one... I posted the same question on Xbiz and I guess the best advice so far was this...
"I've been doing this since 996 and what I've learned is, there is no standard. I can't even begin to count how many programs I've worked with over the years and every one seems to have their own way of doing things and their own reasons for it.
Some swear by FLV, others MOVs and yet others are like "just whatever".
So in the end, do what format you find it easiest to work with.
FLV is however the most common but not the end all standard."
