Has anyone checked out this show? Haven't seen any threads about it.

Just finished watching the second episode and I must say I'm very, very impressed. Very promising series. In some ways, it's even better than Boardwalk Empire. Yeah, I said it. Great characters. Great filming. And so far the story is nice.

I like how HBO makes a show that's not "horse racing for dummies". They drop you in the shit, and say "ok, have at it." I wish more networks would assume there's some smart viewers out there.

I watched the first episode tonight and it was pretty good but I got confused about the racing stuff as I know nothing about horse racing. I will watch more though to catch on. Great so far.

It is a very good show, great story, difficult to watch is one is expecting something easy like White Collar.

It's weird. Some of the characters seem like real people you would actually know, as opposed to the usual stock pretty people that are on every other TV show. I'm talking about the jockey with the broken collarbone, the Irish chick, Escalante and especially a couple of the guys that won the pick 6.

Nick Nolte is Nick Nolte and there's nothing you can do about that.

This is a serious show, not amateur hour. If you want mindless action and a dumb plot, watch Alcatraz or some other crap.
