Problem with editing text how do i do this?

OK how do i do this? how do i replace (|) with the enter key. using something like replace in word.

before
aaaa|bbbb|cccc|dddd

after
aaaa

Go Search, Replace..., Find What: |, Replace With: \r, Check Extended in Search Mode.

I'm sure there is an easier way but that'll work for you.
