EPOCH PAYCOM Visa fee

Do Mainstream sites who use Visa have to pay a $750 fee?

If not then why does Epoch/Paycom still charge $750 for a mainstream site? Any ideas why?

I don't mind paying $750 if I have to, but if it is not required I'm not going to give Visa one penny.

I don't have to with Ibill or CCbill but now Paycom is trying to make me pay them $750 for a mainstream site.

Is it just bullshit or what? Are they trying to screw me?

My guess is that they do so much "high risk" business, that Visa just lumps their whole operation into that category.

Woah really? That's why I said I had a mainstream site (nonadult).

Signup for Netbilling.com and you won't have to pay the fee.

You are better off elsewhere anway.

If doing mainstream then I suggest your own merchant account.

If you are using the IPSP model and not your own merchant account you will have to pay the Visa registration fee. The IPSP model is high risk and falls into Visa program. Otherwise you can get your own merchant account.

If you are using Epoch as a payment gateway to your own merchant account, you do not have to pay the registration to Epoch but you may have a fee to pay to your bank.

If your not processing adult, then your nuts to be using any 3rd party processor at all. Get your own merchant account, and there will be no fees, and the per transaction fee will only be around 1.5 to 2.5 % thats a HUGE savings, and also you wont be involved with any of the ibill, WSB, ccbill epoch etc... bull shit about Held fees, charge backs, or Not getting paid for whatever garbage they try to shovel....

I might be wrong but I think "High Risk" is any service where can download the product or view the content right after you submit your card. If you were selling actual goods I don't think you would have a problem.

I could be wrong though, thats just how I always heard it

my partners mainstream site did not need to pay $750 for visa at iBill. iBill told her that the 750 is only required for adult.

There are a few billing companies that have managed somehow to not have to collect the $750.00 from their clients. Globill is one of them. I know a couple of amateurs who left CCBill to use Globill for that reason. Does anyone think that is going to last? Is whatever loophole they are using going to hold up?

My personal guess on this mess is that if Visa doesn't get everyone into compliance like they have claimed to be going to do, they will find themselves on the receiving end of a lawsuit for unfair practices and restraint of trade.
