Traffic Test - PlugRush

I'm probably going to catch shit for this judging from the number of sig whores flying their banner but facts are facts.

Bought a measly $30.00+ in traffic to a free Chaturbate white label. I convert around 1:80 raw on these with my own shitty traffic and I don't think that expecting free joins that don't even require an email should be too much to ask on paid traffic.

I have two campaigns but both go to the same website, here are the results so far.

Campaign 1

This campaign was for 1000 clicks of their plug traffic, HQ countries only at the default CPC of $0.01414.

Their stats show 85 out of 1000 delivered.

Campaign 2

This campaign was for 1000 clicks of their plug traffic, HQ countries only at a slightly higher CPC of $0.01586.

Their stats show 576 of 1000 delivered.

My Results

From Chaturbate (counting page views as clicks) 7,931 hits, 0 free signups.

From AWStats 917 visits and 5787 page views.

The funny thing is that these pages have a Chaturbate embed in them which counts a page view as a click. However, I do not think they count multiple refreshes from one visitor but I will have to double check. I know for a fact that they don't count multiple clicks on a text link, if you are cookied and click you get a 0 in stats.

As you can see, the numbers are WTF all around. This was a new website with no other traffic. If you want to know why their numbers don't match you'll have to ask them.

As for sales results, 0 sales from whichever number you want to believe is unacceptable. If they won't sign up for a free webcam site will they really pull out a credit card for one?

Another Important Point

Nothing to do with buying traffic but you should know that if you put their embed in your pages to sell traffic it automatically redirects your mobile traffic and sells it to their network. You can turn this off if you go into the admin panel and disable it but it takes around an hour to take effect. I did make a buck or so while it was processing but redirecting my mobile traffic is something I would never do on my own accord.

Take whatever you will from these results but I will not recommend them to anyone I know and if I see a sig whore spamming their link in every traffic thread on GFY I may ask for their own stats with the system since they are obviously satisfied buyers.

Edit: Hopefully these kinds of posts will still fly on GFY. No idea if they buy ads or not but wanted to give a heads up to webmasters thinking about investing in traffic. The more information you have the better.

I may post results from another traffic broker here as well, need to clarify something with them first.

I'll be trying them all. Never been a fan of buying traffic but if we see results I'll go on a Manwin sized spree.

We buy a lot on plugrush, click price is very very low.. quality is not super high.. but its goes with the price... and overall with targeted thumbs and clear landing page it work very well for me.

Dont forget the traffic come from people listing the thumbs widget, so its almost like blind traffic... but you get to control what thumb is used...

Also we pay 2.50$+ per free leads on FCE.. and their is no traffic leak .. so maybe its why ;)

It's good to hear that someone had better luck. While I agree completely that you can always optimize a landing page this is one that I convert decent on with traffic from multiple sources. Most of the time I see this broker mentioned it is in response to a newbie asking where to buy traffic. I am not perfect with maximizing landing pages but if I can't make a profit or even get a free signup on pages I already use then new webmasters are probably not going to have better luck, especially with sites requiring a credit card.

The almost blind traffic makes sense, but that's why I started this discussion. It might work brilliantly for certain things and horribly on others.

When you created your widget, you can EASILY turn this setting off, way before you ever post the code to your website. You must not have looked very good or you went through your widget extremely fast.

I'll wait on your input. As mentioned, I doubt things are optimal but this is a free join we are talking about. The stats discrepancy is really bugging me, I tested things a few minutes ago and I cannot make my visits count as more than one hit no matter what I do. Is a lot of your traffic non cookied by chance? The only thing I could even imagine is that non cookied traffic counts as a hit for every page load because there is no way to know they have been there before. That would also explain the good results with MyFreeCams as mentioned above because those are probably tied to an email address.

Campaign 1 is 8% finished and hasn't converted anything after 85 hits?
and Campaign 2 is 57% finished and also hasn't converted yet?

Kinda small numbers to judge the traffic on isn't it?

If you send me links to your landingpages we can assist you in optimizing it for performance, or see if there are other reasons it might not perform as expected.

In general I don't think chaturbate is the best thing to promote with our plug traffic from mixed countries. You might need to try it with individual country campaigns. You might have better results with chaturbate if you use our pop traffic.

I think that is what he is wondering about too. He is trying to figure out why he has such high chaturbate stats in comparison to what you've actually sent him. I think he was wondering if maybe surfers without cookies were getting registered multiple times as new clicks by chaturbate.

I wish I knew, here is what I can tell you.

When I first started a campaign I sent the traffic to my homepage which is a collection of webcam thumbnails like most cam sites. At that time you had to click on an actual thumbnail before those hits registered in stats. The reason any click registers is that the pages use Chaturbate embeds which are iframes and show up in stats on page load.

After about 80 hits to the tracker 'websitename' which is standard throughout the site and would indicate that people were clicking to individual cam pages from the thumbs, I added an iframe of the top chatroom at the very top of the home page using the tracker websitenameTCR.

The stats you see above are what happened after I added the chatroom iframe. The only place that tracker is used is on the home page iframe. My Chaturbate stats now show that the embed has 8153 hits. Oddly, I can't get an iframe like that to count me more than once no matter what I do. I've reloaded the page, clicked to different links then back to the page and even closed the page and came back. The Chaturbate cookie only counts my visit once after doing any of that.

The only thing that even reasonably makes sense is if a lot of surfers did not have cookies enabled. I haven't tested it but I'd guess that with the browser not accepting cookies that Chaturbate would count each page load because they would have no way of knowing a visitor had been there before. If that is the case it brings up the questions of why visitors would sit there refreshing the main page but not really click on any other pages.

The main reason why I think your stats might show more hits than we track and charge you for, is because of fake traffic like hitbots, crawlers, proxy traffic, google translate and other cheating types traffic. We detect bad traffic, and don't charge for it, but the traffic passes through. We don't block the traffic, but let it pass through. Not all proxy traffic is necessarily unwanted traffic. That could be the reason why you AWstats show 917 visits after only ~650 hits sent.

Why your chaturbate stats are so high, i don't know. I don't know how they are doing their tracking. if it's purely cookie based, the that could be the reason. bots, crawlers etc, rarely stores cookies.

As for your campaign conversion results, there are a few factors to consider.
I looked at your campaign, and even though your plug thumbnail looks good, it doesn't really give the user the impression that he will see live cams like what chaturbate offers. You should consider using thumbs that better shows what the user will get.
Another thing is that your plug thumbnail only has around 1:3300 ctr. which is very low compared to the average in the system. You should create more plugs, with better thumbnails, and do some tests to see which thumbs perform best for your campaign. Aim for at least 1:1000 or better. That will give your campaign a higher priority and faster clicks. I recommend at least 5 plugs for a campaign. You can get cheaper clicks with a campaign that has high ctr. You can lower your click bid, but still get prioritized before campaigns with higher bid, but lower ctr.

While I understand you wanting to give him tips about streamlining his landing pages. I think his point is, he currently converts these pages with other not so great traffic he has.

His main gripe besides the stats not matching up is, he can not get a person to signup with no CC, email etc. Which is one of the easiest ways to get members to join imo.

I do have two joins now, newest one came from the lower bid and slower to deliver campaign.

The stats aren't going insanely wild like they were on the other campaign either. I have no explanations now because everything is the same but fractions of a cent in bid price.
