i thought it was just pay per click - the cam girls make 50-60% on MFC, if affiliates were given 20% it wouldn't leave much for MFC after their expenses.

Sounds about right since models get 0.5 per token and tokens can be bought between 1 and 0.8. So MFC gets 0.3-0.1 per token on affiliate sales.

So no one like $3 per free signup, all want or use the 20% revshare? I am a little amazed, I understand big traffic guys as freeones, but smaller guys?

I lately believe more in free signups payouts, I think small and new affiliates prefer some sure money quickly, constantly, rather than hope in bigger luck in a future or here and there. Big sites will always do custom deals with high rev share but I not talk of that.

I run a cam site and the models of course think we (site, affiliates) simply steal "their money" and they want 99.99% nothing less. It applies to affiliates who want very big % and per signup too This is an old story, the new one it is this promo which tell guys no more to pay for cams. We (site guys) know that some will pay finally even if we ask them not to, but, still it is a fact the models are pissed.
Note that I run an mfc clone with "tube" name in it, so I believe in the free cam thing myself, still most models will hate free cam sites, who run them and who advertize with videos like that. Adapt or die?

For mfc in particular there is camscore to rank girls and it is quite related to how much they do - the top ones make $20,000 per 14 days pay period, their cut. Those with a little less camscore does 8-10k per 14 days pay period, and so on, down to the last page ones (camscore 500 or less) who do $1 per day on best case.

Streamate is perhaps the site with most pornstars at the moment, yes (in the past most was at videosecrets). I was not saying that the porn stars do not make good money in cam sites, I am saying that the cam models doing the most money are not the porn stars. Pornstars may do more money then average, consider there's 1000 models online and dozen pornstars so it may be the best average per "group of girls", so pornstars do more then blondes group or brunettes group.
Unlike myfreecams, in streamate there is not a published models rank by money made so I could not say, but I still bet most of the top 10 models (by sales) are not pornstar category, maybe there's 1 or 2 and that's those who are online always such as that blonde with a dildo collection and her poster on wall, forgot the name

Could be...because some of those girls are on all day long. I don't know how they put in that many hours.

So maybe they do make more money overall? But CM and all her porn girlfriends rarely work on cam for more than a couple of hours a day. And we still rake in $2,000 plus a week.

I'd say that the girls with big fan bases (the "porn star" girls) probably make a lot more per hour than the "normal" cutsie-type girls. But perhaps those "normal" girls work it more like a job (put in more hours) because it's their main income and make more money at the end of the week.
