Shit, I don't do any of that stuff and my blogs have been just fine. If your blogs have quality content Google will love them. I gained huge amounts of traffic with every Panda update and all 60+ of my blogs are just on 2 shared accounts. You really don't have to put that much effort into SEO if you write quality posts that viewers like.Well he's right.

Lol. I actually do agree with him when it comes to starting a network or expanding on a relatively new network, but I also think there's a 'search equity' metric of sorts written into the algo so as not to over penalize regularly updated and/or aged networks who have been using SEO best practices while doing it for years, so you'll be fine.
