    Gmail question...

I have 1000's of unread messages and would like them all to be marked read.

I am sure there is a way to do it without spending hours going page to page.....

Click the "More" button and then click "Mark All As Read"

It only works one page at a time....

I am sure it is as simple as that though and I will kick myself....

Create a new filter with is:unread in the Has the words field, then tell Gmail to Mark as read all matching messages. Finally, tick the box next to Also apply filter to conversations below and create the filter. The filter will mark all your unread items as read. If you just want to clear out unread items in a specific label, add something like label:Followup to the Has the words box with is:unread.

Drop down menu on the left, the unchecked box, check "select all"

There should be a link right above your first message that say "select all XXXXX conversations in inbox"

then select mark all as read.

I just checked though and there's a drop down menu that says 'mark all as read'

How did you ever manage to accumulate thousands of unread messages ?
If they have no relevance to mark as "Read" why not just delete them all ?

With me everything has to be neat and tidy.. seeing thousands in my inbox
would drive we totally up a wall ...

No you are not alone ... I never and doubt I will ever have a Facebook account ...

I am still puzzled why let's say Chevrolet has :
                        http://www.chevrolet.com/ ( a GPR 7/10 )

Why on earth would they need :
                        http://www.facebook.com/chevrolet

and give their traffic to Facebook when they have their own Chevrolet site ...

                        It is absolute madness ...
