          ultraedit (uex) for linux is only $39 and it rocks!

                  When I'm forced to use a PC anyway.

                  If I'm on a Mac I use TextMate. Which is not free.

                          Ultraedit is neither free as in free beer nor free as in free speech (open source).
                          It may be great, I don't know, but it doesn't appear to be free or open in any way.
