Indian Tech Support Scam

Anyone received one of these before? A lot going around in the UK right now. An Indian cold-calls and tells you your PC has a virus, does a LogMeIn and then requests a payment

they have called me repeately. after about 10 seconds i tend to go off on them and ask them if they can do this sort of shit with a straight face, or if someone is holding their children hostage and forcing them to be assholes. it is amazing the bad english words that these indian fuckwads know.

They call me almost every day now, I used to be patient, but now I'm quite blunt and to the point.

Yesterday I started asking one lots of questions about where he was located etc, he said "You ask too many question!" and then hung up

I wonder if some of the people phoning actually believe it's genuine, I once out of curiosity went through the call long enough and got transferred to a guy who spoke better English, he was ready to log into my PC. Maybe they hire some dolly birds for the cold calling bit and keep them in the dark

I guess they know lots of bad English words from the people who have a melt down with them every day

Yeah, they are pretty smart too.

There was an outage in my neighborhood. The next day, they claimed to be my ISP and were calling to correct the problem.

I didn't fall for it, but they almost got my wife.

Perhaps they had found out from an earlier caller. They almost caught my Dad out too (he's in his 60's)

I get this all the time. Now I've started playing with them. "really? a virus? that sounds serious." etc. It's funny. They are really thrown when you play along!

I think they get paid to stay on the line, cos I had this guy on for AGES asking him how he slept at night, and did he know how evil he was. Asking which religion he was and how his god(s) would view his disgusting behaviour.

Then I point out he is lying about this report he has saying I've got a virus. He swears he isn't. I say he is because there are only Macs in the house. He says I am lying. At this point I told him to fuck off and hung up.

People would pay to listen to you with them, if you ever get a chance to record one that would be interesting
