I mean, the type that will use a htaccess 404 error and file_get_contents to clone images and pages, replacing all links and scripts etc...

like a mirror of a website?

Take a look at wget or curl, both unix utilities. I don't think they grab htaccess files though.

Well I mean one that will mirror a site and alter links too. I want to make sure menus etc dont go back to the original site.

I will probably just do a save-as and rebuild the section I want to mimic.

Couldn't you just build your own site by the time you figure this out?

I mean, you are taking the same amount of time to do it in a way that you

Well, you don't post a link to the site you want to clone so it gives the
impression that you are hiding something.

Your reason about testing is not a good reason for any affiliate related functions.

I would test a web page that way if I wanted to "scrape" it everyday however.

Not many people who write scripts are interested in cloning someone else's site.
