    Making A POTD In Wordpress

I sometimes don't like the POTD choices of programs even though I like the program itself.

Using Wordpress, is it possible to personally choose maybe 100 or so photos from a program and set it up so that they rotate daily?

I have such a thing in place for most of my blogs...

First I collected the links for about 500 sites. Then I created a script to be run by a cronjob and spit out POTD links for several niches and to do so on blogs with skinny and wide sidebars. Next each blog loads its POTD file based on its niche and the size of its sidebar.

To my knowledge there are no plugins for this...

I would put those pics in a folder and just a small PHP-script to display a random one...

        Wow. Impressive.

So if it spits out say a 120x180 for the skinny sidebar and something like a 180x270 for the wide, will it automatically scale an original size pic or do you have to create the thumbs beforehand?

Having more control over the size is another reason why I want to just do it myself.

yes, of course, there are many ways to do it, depending on how comfortable you feel with coding. I don't think there's a plugin for this PER SE, but basically because this isn't something that worth the time to code or build. Anyway, if you aren't very knowledgeable on teh subject, the simplest solution is to just grab any javascript rotation script where you can adjust time (most usually they're in seconds or milliseconds) and simply adjust it to rotate every 24 hours (ie 86400 seconds) and voilá! there you have your super easy POTD custom solution

This reminds me of the old days when I'd submit to pic posts all over the place, especially Richard's Realm who would never list them.
