This fall I'm taking Princeton class on Artificial Intelligence taught by Google's Director of Research. He happens to be a world renowned expert on Artificial Intelligence. So if you want to see which direction Google is going with search, read up on the basics of AI.For historical display only. This information is not current:

that was very interesting, thanks for posting. Just watched the whole thing. I keep track of my google positions in excel sheets. And the dates of all the panda updates are spot on with position changes from some of my sites which have suffered, since 2.0 was introduced.Comment

Ditto -that ...can you recommend some books?I am currently working on my site:Comment

So many people talking about bad results after the panda updates, anyone see any GOOD results? Lol
I don't know when the panda was put into place but my SE traffic has been going up and up recently.Comment

More specifically, if I read that right, pure link building (think JC Penny or whatever it was that did black hat link building by offering discounts to students with .edu sites) isn't going to work like it used to?Comment

Yes. I have a way to create mass content in a unique fashion that Panda likes.
One other note, Panda does NOT like mobile redirects to other sites.Comment

Norvig's books, which give his thinking and therefore strongly hints at how Google will see AI, are:
http://aima.cs.berkeley.edu/
http://norvig.com/paip.html
I actually don't recall the title of the AI textbook I read.
It was just another of Ali's books from when she was in school.
I read all of her comp sci books because I'm that geeky.
Norvig has been a force at Google for 10 years, so his writing should both teach AI and give his vision which he applies at Google.
For anyone in a technical field of any kind, it's worth reading a few paragraphs he titled "Teach Yourself Programming in Ten Years".

The class someone linked to is indeed the one I'm signed up for.For historical display only. This information is not current:

Yea one of my sites that's basically just ONE page with 100% static content (and not a lot) for 3 years is now getting 10x the traffic it was before Panda. Sure it's only around 10K visits on a monthly basis but wtf panda?!
Most blogs got hit and are down between 15-20%. Tubes are growing.But.... I pulled out...Comment
