Usually (from my experience) the nats code will remain either encoded or unencoded. Though, make sure you test it in an 'in-private' or 'incognito' browser window as you might have the cookie from a different affiliate which is causing the change on the tour.
If it's unencoded it shouldn't become encoded.
The program should parse along the unencoded var to the joinpage.
They basically have a code that looks for a nats var in the URL, and if it doesn't exist, it pusts their own. If it does exists and it puts their own something is up.
