Numbering posts #1 - #10 before the post title. I'm pretty sure it doable, I think I've even found a tutorial before explaining how. Just not sure what to search for 'number posts and wp' delivers up so much junk.

Anyone any ideas?

glad it works but you dont really need to perform a custom sql query.

just a counter in the loop and increment it each post.
