    what does sharp copy mean?

    when referring to a lens?

    To my knowledge if a lens is a soft copy then you purchased a lens that isn't taking sharp or in focus images due to the calibration being fucked up or something wrong with a piece inside the lens etc. A sharp lens is the opposite, clear contrasty sharp images.
