I'd say it takes around 4-6 months on average to gain a steady social media following and and a loyal audience. It's up to you if you want to invest your time into twitter/fb/instagram Good luck

With the good strategy you can get a nice amount of traffic pretty fast (one month or so). For adult sites I have a lot of luck with twitter and tumblr.
