My current web host can't handle my website. They took it down after reaching 40 visitors at the same time and only came back more than 5 hours later - there's no way I'll continue using their service again. This is not the first time.

Please recommend a good server and plan for a website with around 8000 visitors per day and around 40 to 80 visitors at the same time.

It depends on the content, I don't have problems with them. This is from their terms of service:

There is also Rackspace and AWS.

Your problem has more to do with the server itself, not with the hosting.
