Most likely because at about the 1:10 mark, as he is trying to handcuff the girl, a group rushes from his left side, and then a guy runs at him aggressively from the right side.
I know that there are cops out there that are really overzealous, but if I saw someone getting arrested, and resisting arrest, the last thing I would do is crowd the arresting officer and run up on him. Maybe it was just a natural reaction to seeing a 14 yr old girl in a bikini attacked by an angry grown man.
People have to learn not to react when a cop body slams a 14 yr old girl on the concrete and then knees her in the back to crush her lungs.

Police wear uniforms for a reason, so that they are easily identifiable, so not buying the "natural reaction to seeing a 14 yr old girl in a bikini attacked by an angry grown man" argument.
She was clearly resisting arrest (arrest for what, we don't know since the footage doesn't show that) Maybe it was justifiable, maybe not. But it stands to reason that if you let them handcuff you, and not resist. Maybe once the situation is under control, you can reason your way out of them. That's not being a sheep, that's using common sense. You have to show respect, to get respect. Part of the issue with today's youth is that they don't respect anyone. I'm certain that 12 officers didn't show up and start grabbing people and arresting people just because they felt like it.

On June 5, 2015 at approximately 7:15 p.m., officers from the McKinney Police Department responded to a disturbance at the Craig Ranch North Community Pool. The initial call came in as a disturbance involving multiple juveniles at the location, who do not live in the area or have permission to be there, refusing to leave. McKinney Police received several additional calls related to this incident advising that juveniles were now actively fighting.

Well it all looked fucked up, but for a police officer or any grown up to throw a 14 year old tiny girl to the ground with such force was uncalled for. That cop with the stripes on his arm was being a mean SOB in my opinion. Sometimes that is warranted but this time it wasn't.
Not trying to stir shit up but also if the kids showed respect as others have pointed out I doubt it would of gotten this far out of control! People and kids need to learn that shit man, Just because you're black or asian or white or what ever color you are it don't give you any right to be disrespectful to a police officer.
Yes I see there are problems with race in the police dept I see several white racist police officers and I have seen several raciest black police officers. As I was taught growing up, show respect to earn respect. Always respect a police officer even if they are in the wrong, take it to court, don't stand there and argue your point to a police officer. If you have video even better when you go to court.
Stop thinking every cop is out to get you or every young black person is a thug or out to commit a crime and this shit would not be as bad as it is. Again just me thinking.

What this POS cop did to this young girl is FUCKED UP! But these kids that ran up on a cop shouldn't get paid for shit.
My take from reading and watching other vids on this. There were like 8 cops at the scene when this happened. 7 other cops were being polite and talking to the kids. This SHORT fat cop has issues and has to be the loudest bad cop on the scene but can't even run without falling ( I lold so hard at that). This cop was yelling profanities at young teen girls. If he really wanted to detain this annoying 14 yr old he could've called over another officer to cuff her non violently. No one else would've charged in if other officers were there helping the issue not making it worse.
This cop has no biz being a cop if he can't handle a young girl better than this
