I've observed on GFY that there are some who pay models for say a week worth of modeling - a few thousand bucks at most (and shoot dozens and dozens of photo sets), pay the girl a flat fee for her modeling, and essentially dump her since now they have enough content to fake an active solo girl site (until they find a new mark).

Personally I find this unfair to the model, even if the model was gullible enough to sign a release that earns her a small percentage of what the webmaster will ultimately make (of course the agreement doesn't explicitly state this).

I have base rates for various types of modeling that are pretty average for the adult industry, so the models for my multi-model sites (such as AsianDivaGirls), know they are being paid fair market prices for being on a multi-model site.
