promos are dumb and are just used for sales pitches! WOW make 100$ on Sunday and THursday! but you only make $25 on all the other days. It's just a tricky way to market a program and get people's attention.

That's the goal. To get webmasters to try a program they normally wouldn't try. That extra incentive is enough to convince some webmasters to try and those programs hope they'll keep them after the program is over.

So if the program converts great and you make a bunch of sales every day at $25, then a couple days out of the week the program gives you an additional $75 per sale just as a thanks-for-promoting us...

Advertising everywhere that you pay $80 per signup, and then on your site explaining that you actually only pay $40, but if you can make 1000 sales in a week, all your next ones are at $80.

You guys can't think logically at all. Promo's are made to boost webmaster moral, and to attract new webmasters.. Granted some sponsors suck and they conveniently suck harder on promo days, but that shouldn't be the goal of a promotion. Some of these sponsors that I know really know how to treat and reward their webmasters, while bringing aboard new, curious ones.. Promo days aren't stupid and if you think that, shut the fuck up and don't promote..

yeah that one bothers me too, look around and see who does that the most.

I for one always tell people what they start off with. What's the point advertising the highest level of a payout program when no one makes it to that level. Just as bad as the dumb promo days.

please. like i said promo days are like the free chances to win cars and shit. Are you here to make money or play fucking games.

If the program paid good everyday it wouldn't have to give promo days. If the program paid good I wouldn't need to win a car I would buy one. It's all about trying to lure you in so they make money off of you, not you off of them. Want to impress me with your program, pay me the most everyday of the week, not just the ones that start with T.

It's very simple. A sponsor can't exist without its webmasters and the webmasters cannot exist without the sponsors, so a medium must be formed. Even companies that DO convert and pay out well, do promotions just to spice things up, reward their webmasters and attract new ones.. I see some logic in what you are saying but it can go both ways..

i've never won a car with clickcash or even had an entry. I make the same amount of money with them no matter what the day of the week. They don't send me ipods and xboxs. Instead of them wasting money on that shit, they PAY ME WELL. Think about those cars that companie give away. Do you think that comes out of their pocket??? LOL They factor that expense in. That's your money basically, but instead of paying you they pool it together and 1 lucky SOB gets it all, and the rest of you make a little less. I understand what you're saying Will, and that applies to the majority cases.. I disagreed because in my case, the sponsors I've used not only paid me well but awarded me for my traffic, so i'm twice as happy, but I totally see where you're coming from and the sponsors that go under the majority category in this case, should pay attention and learn something.

I make like 4x more with clickcash then any other company with the same traffic. So if clickcash shaves me, then what the hell is the difference if I am making more money with them anyway. i agree if you get the company to work you out a special deal and pay you more.

99% of the sponsors here will not listen. They believe in the shutgun approach, the more people they get the more likely they are to get a couple really good affiliates. If they throw out the "free cars" and " $200 thursday and sunday payouts" they get more people to signup to their program. So they figure more people sign up more likely to get a couple good ones. However, I seriously doubt any of the big producers are attracted to these companies because of the chance to win a free car. Seriously think about, if you switched to a company because of the promo "win a free car", how much do you make. need i say more. Now, some of these companies will tell you that they give the prizes as rewards to their webmastes, ok welll if that is the case then why do you harp on it so much and use it as an advertising tool. Seriously, if it is a reward just announce in your webmasters area.

I for one would prefer to work with a company that is serious about making money, not giving shit away as prizes. They should spend all of their advertising on bragging about their top affiliates and how much they make with their program. Instead of telling you " our top 5 guys made 1 million this month, they tell you " with us you have a chance to win a free car" whooaa hoo now that gets me excited where do i signup lol.

I agree Will. I did it myself two months ago with PussyCash's $100 dollar promotions. I tried it from Sunday to Wednesday giving them 100% of my traffic. My ratio went way down and I just got lucky that I made that one $100 sale on a Tuesday night between 11pm and 12am. The next afternoon on Wednesday I switched my traffic back to ifriends and I immediately made two sales, lol. That was very odd though, how quickly I made those two sales. It was as if ifriends was saying "no please don't send your traffic elsewhere! We promise not to shave again!". Just joking of course, Will.

You're right, I have no arguments there..Then again I have my sponsors I promote and if I see another sponsor doing a promotion for some goodies, I'm a very materialistic person and i'll switch my traffic over to the other guys for 1-2 days or split the traffic 50-50...It's not an extremely wise approach but logical to a certain extent...
