WHAT LINK? There is WAS NO link to Al Qaeda in Iraq. EVEN GW finally admitted that. It is even documented in the recently released 9/11 report. The same was said in the report on U.S. Intelligence failures. Yet despite the overwelming FACTS & PROOF, you want us to just take your word for it that Saddam and Osama were connected and somehow involved in the 9/11 attacks. Give that up..it's old and not relevant to the CURRENT discussion about Iraq.

I was all for taking out Saddam and liberating Iraq. Let's face it the only other significant military force came from Britian and some smaller amounts from a few other countries so it would look like it was an international force. But the death toll speaks the truth. How many Brits died?

That's my point. If it was balanced, yeh we would still have casualties but at least it wouldn't just be all our guys and with a stronger force the overall number would have been less.

It could have been a hell of a lot worse over the last four years than it has been. This might seem like a terrible thing to say but I think the events of 911 actually made things easier on the porn industry. It shifted the objectives of the DOJ toward fighting terrorism and away from fighting us.

The recent proposed changes in the 2257 laws are unwelcomed but outside of that, Asshahahahaha hasn't really done much to hurt us (at least in comparrison with all the gloom and doom predictions back in 2000).

Let me ask you a question. Should every child have a right to attend elementary school? Junior High School? Or should the only kids who get to go be the ones whose parents can afford private schools and the rest of the kids will be ok because you think they can somehow just "be performers"??

Paying for all of our kids to go to college is really just extending education in our country for another 2 to 4 years, since we're already paying for every child to have the first 12 years.
That's not an unreasonable thing to do considering how much more our kids need to learn to compete in the global marketplace.

You don't trust ANYONE, politician or not.

Owning slaves was a common practice in Washington's day. You can't blame people for being a product of their times. Besides, we don't know how Washington personally felt about slavery. Some of the slave owners back then treated their slaves like actual human beings and let them eat at the same dinner table as they did, and so on. A lot of these people hated slavery but the time was not condusive to speaking out against it (i.e., there was a much grerater risk of doing so back then). It is really easy to judge others from our perspective now.

EVERY child should be afforded a basic education. However (if you're a parent, or had been my parent LMAO) some will reject it.

College is a prestigious honor. My younger sister worked 6 years to make what I have not. (I still make craploads more $$ than her, but that's besides the point).

My point is... going to college is EARNED, like everything else... not handed out "because it's the right thing to do".

- If your job sucks, and you make minimum wage, I would encourage you to find a new profession or "better job". In theory, I would agree with this ideology. Most people initially would. We all have our own self-interests in mind. That alone doesn't make you greedy. It's natural to want to take care of yourself and your family before taking care of strangers. And it's natural to be upset when you think that you are being asked to support someone who is not 'contributing their fair share'.

But it's a 'utopian' view to imagine that these people will just passively consent to those rules. The Darwinistic social theory does not take human nature into account. These people will not just go away. Those not having their needs met, for whatever reason - legitimate or not (even if they're just "stupid" or "lazy"), will become increasingly desperate. If they feel desperate enough, hopeless, alone .. then the charade of civilization is shed. They will rob you to get what (they think) they need, they will kill you to get what (they think) they need, and they will be destructive simply to express their rage.

That's reality. It's not nice, but human nature has been this way throughout all of human history. If you don't take this reality into consideration when you are financing a society, then you will pay for it in harder terms.

Social welfare is a bribe. It's an attempt to passify those most likely to disrupt society. It's distasteful, but neccessary if you want to to live in a safe country.

Ultimately this is why countries with free health care and a generous social safety net have such lower crime rates.
