There are no "normal fluctuations" in sales because of bullshit like taxes.

People see the post " sales down today" and the people with bad sales flock to it... so everyone convinces everyone else that they are having a bad day because of taxes. I wonder how many of these people have "real" problems they will now over look because they can just as easy blame it on taxes and take the rest of the day off.
