The only time I used Godaddy was many years back when domains were a $1.19. I have had some accidental auto renewals but that went away quickly.

I can’t believe their prices... you’d think they’d want to keep customers. But whatever business model they’re on obviously works.

The domains I have at Godaddy all came via auction, I must try and remember to transfer them out. That's the only reason I ever use them.

That was the reason I transferred all the babies elsewhere years ago. In the beginning GoDaddy pricing was decent, and renewals were same price as new domain, and there were free privacy coupons out there, and there were discounts for those who had many domains. But then... godaddy stopped coupons, increased the pricing, no more discounts for old customers with larger portfolios, and in general It got 2-4 times more expensive than competition.

GD renewals are a joke. They rope noobies in with $1 a year for the domain for the first year and then the fine print is like a $30 year price factoring in whois protect.

There's probably a coupon you can use for a discount on Ultimate Domain Protection and Security Renewal. But why are you wasting money using it at $27.98 on some 12-15 character .com?

If you have a large portfolio of 500+ domains, you should be able to get a dedicated account manager.
