    they run a huge huge list and you would have to think they would want their searches to be as relevant as can be, with these tools, that might make it easier for them?

    they have tools yes, but they dont post their algo and what to do to get ranked, thats up to you to figure out.

    i could be completely wrong here, but... who knows but them...

                This is really a stupid question without knowing the site, what it is promoting, how many others are promoting it, etc, etc.

                If you are the first promoting a product that no one else is, backlinks and content mean jack.

                                                    Well, its has always been a combination of different factors .. their weight just kept changing over the time. Every one knows search engines keep tweaking their shit from the day one.

                                                    But yeah, once factor that can dominate all others are backlinks, you can get an empty single page site ranked for literally any term if whole fucking world start linking to you (examples are ranking of adobe page, google.com and yahoo.com for totally unrelated terms "click here", "exit" etc..) . Of course its not easily possible in reality, but in case it happen .. nothing can prevent you from ranking, so what I mean is .. backlinks alone have power to dominate every other factor .. may be out-weight is better word for this? not sure.

                                                    The guy who is saying content is major factor, is also right ... but how? If you have some quality content (well informative article, useful tool, a big news, astonishing video etc) .. you will get ranked, because people love linking to such things from forums, their blogs and stuff ... so, backlinks are what getting you ranked again, but indirectly.

                                                                    I already have 1st page listings for my keywords on the sites I care about. That said, I obviously do not need your "hot tips" . However, it's nice you keep up with all these other SEO "experts" who can make these delusions of grandeur claims, but never back them up.

                                                                    I believe Shoebitch did a show about you types a few weeks back. It was just as entertaining as your "expertise".

                                                                    They rank right up there with the weather man. Wrong most of the time, but still manage to stay employed. Classic comedy.

                                                                                                                                But most often when wanting to be on the first SERP's, all Your competitors have insane "link juice" at the SE's, so in order to compete with them...

PPC concept of taking over normal listings has been tested and failed again and again over the last ten years or so. Those are 2 different things and the current status of major SEs we see is nothing more than a successful combination. It is this mix that drove google to the revenue monster it is in our days.

                                                                                                                                            This is what gets Wikipedia ranked.

                                                                                                                                            If you think you can get ranked similar to wikipedia (or generally on the top for everything) with a few million pages, and every page linking to index ... you need to revise your SEO knowledge.

                                                                                                                                            Don't you think it would be the easiest fucking way to rank, then?

                                                                                                                                                                Using CS3 Photoshop you almost don't need other tools like plugins...

                                                                                                                                                                Using MS Paint you would need every tool ever made because of the limitations on what it can do.
