So a few days ago last week my wife gets a text from her ex; they've been broken up over 5 years but every once in a while sends a message or something to try and "win her back."
This time its because she has been receiving letters from the state regarding a previous years tax return when she lived with him years ago. For some reason the fucktards at the local office never updated her address, although she moved a number of times between then and now.
Instead of his ass writing "does not live here" or "return to sender" like a normal half wit idiot does, he OPENS the mail and reads it. The last one was sent to him in early September stating they needed a response from her in 10 days or they would issue an arrest warrant. He waits well past the 10 days and sends her a message about it, then mails her the letter that he opened.
Now she has to pay all sorts of fines and penalties because she didnt respond (how could she if she didnt get the letters??) and on top of that, have to dig up old tax returns to prove she is still not living there.
Fucking broke ass city trying to scrounge up every penny they can, but now I'm out near $300 for this because her ex dickhead decides not to return mail.
Think its worth pursing anything against him? As far as I know, its a federal offense to open someone else's mail right?
