Latona is a weird ass fella. Something is up with him, prob something very interesting; please Rick, write long tell-all post on your blog or here. A couple of years ago Latona was THE man when it came to domain selling. Even Rick Schwartz and his sidekick Neu swallowed their pride and inserted their heads deep into Latonas anus looking to make the big bucks.

I understand that Latonas auctions, particularly live auctions were huge money losers. But why not go back to his simple daily emails. Surely he was making a few grand a day from that. And why sell Digopawn and Digiloan, those would have to be cash cows also.

I also want Rick to come clean and say how many Filipino elfs he has working for him designing minisites and spamming whois. Please write tell-all book about your life Rick.

I agree big time, keep it simple stupid. I used to pay domains from that list all the time, then these stupid auctions started and the first one was popular and the rest were a waste of time. I stopped buying after that.

The "merit" is piece of mind and security. Since all of your income is made via that domain, then why risk paying it off slow? If something happens to you, your site, you can't buy advertising, something happens between you and streamates (god knows you pushed that one several times), and you get in a money bind, miss payments then you fucked.

The smart thing to do is to pay it off as fast as you can. So, you do the opposite

I once wanted to finance a great domain through them, would pay 40% down, but it was turned down to my surprise. I am wondering how many domains did they actually finance, probably it was mostly domains they sold through newsletter, but most of them were not good anyway.

Camgirs is different, he sold it for 350k than took it back in pawn for only few k only probably.

You quote interest at 36% per annum so I will guess you are paying 3% per month and have just multiplied it for annual?

So $400 x 52 weeks / 12 months = $1733 per month.....

So how would you value something like this?

Based on value of loans given out? based on a multiple of interest income receivable on current loans? based on value of domains holding as security?

I would imagine some kind of a combination. Considering loans could end up being defaulted upon with interest income ceasing and loan principal not being repaid forcing a sale of the asset at an unknown price OR the loan could be paid off in full one day after the sale, meaning a cash lump comes in but no future income.

You would probably need to look at each domain loaned against and make assumptions on an individual basis.

Certainly one of the more potentially interesting domain sales in my opinion....
