Faceporn had to close down for a while, but will soon be back in a new and improved version. Stay tuned.

my guess is facebook is going to get face owned in this one.

It is. US Patent and Trademark Office will trademark anything for you if you have the right monies or the right friends.

how the hell that trademark stands given the fact that the movie clearly declares the prior art to the term is beyond me.

every person getting sued should showcase that clip to justify the bypassing of the mark

ala lindows vs microsoft.

windows existed as a term when parc created the first gui interface

facebook existed as a term when MZ did his first hot or not application and the movie documents it, in his own words (from his blog).

********** I went to the same high school as MZ- Exeter Academy (Mark wears the shirt in one scene). We had a little booklet called- "Facebook" which had everyone's photo and bio in it, segmented by class year.

Of course back then it was printed, which belies my age.

Not sure if it predates the Harvard version or not, but it could definitely be seen as prior art

your example could be disqualified because it was offline

the harvard face book (it was an online directory for each residence) is online too.

i personally hope they get this trademark invalidated it just stupid when companies try and take words out of the english dictionary using trademark law.
