Lloyd, I've got some extremely talented PHP developers (they know much more as well, such as Javascript/Jquery, AJAX, MySQL, XHTML, CSS, as well as Smarty templating and popular PHP frameworks) who can do very high quality work for you. Additionally, you'd be working with a company based in the US (not an individual who can easily vanish), so there's definitely a lot more accountability here.
