they were just trying to improve user experience it looks like, as detailed in this post, "Sniff browser history for improved user experience."

            http://www.niallkennedy.com/blog/200...ory-sniff.html

"The social web has filled our websites with too much third-party clutter as we figure out the best way to integrate content with the favorite sites and preferences of our visitors. Intelligent websites should tune-in to the content preferences of their visitors, tailoring a specific experience based on each visitor's favorite sites and services across the social web."

what's the point of suing a Dutch company civilly in the US? can u collect if u win?
I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!

All depends on where their income comes from. If you win snag the money owed to them before it leaves the U.S.

www.Youporn.com is a totally LEGAL tube site. These guys are top notch. Don't even compare them to the content stealing, pirating illegal tubes. They are as different as black and white.

Putting the privacy concerns aside, it hardly seems like anything worth suing over. From my understanding it queries the surfer's computer if you've been to a domain or not. While I agree that this is a privacy breach (of the software maker more than the website exploiting it), I don't see what kind of damages they'd seek in retribution. The information basically identifies IP address and a yes/no response to whether the surfer has been to a website. Hardly seems like anything of value nor pursuing legal action for.

Um, you'd know where to advertise to obtain your surfers... not hypothetically, but definitively.

They, as in the people that own it today, purchased it clean and added more legal content to it.

They are being sued for privacy related issues - not for copyright infringement?
                                              How ridiculous.

But then again, maybe somebody had to go that route because they are so well-protected by the DMCA rules.
