Which brings up another discussion point. Did the industry form itself to satisfy customers needs or affiliates needs?
Certainly many thought throwing endless amounts of traffic at cheap content was the route to success. It worked up until Tubes changed the game.

Your model was based on cheap non recurring sales. You wanted to charge $5 for 10 days non recurring. So an affiliate who did a good enough job to get a customer to pull their credit card out and use it, and the credit card actually worked, would only make $2.50 (at 50% revshare) per a signup. People can make more than that from just verified email addresses which is 1000x more easy to sell. So "today" affiliates wont send to this model. I can't see affiliates ever sending to this type of model with this pay structure. It is the "non recurring" that is killing you and your affiliates.
