    ePassporte said Thursday that its banking partner?s Visa program has been suspended.
    EPassport said Visa International put on hold transactions involving St. Kitts Nevis Anguilla National Bank and that it can no longer issue Visa cards and that account holders won?t be able to make point-of-sale purchases and withdraw funds from ATMs.

    ?At this time we do not know why this drastic action was taken by Visa,? ePassporte owner Christopher Mallick said in a letter. ?To us, it is unconscionable that such action would be taken without the opportunity for ePassporte to fully understand Visa?s reasons and to be able to take all steps necessary to keep our program running the way it has so successfully done for over seven years. But that is what Visa has done.?

    Mallick said ePassporte was notified at noon on Thursday of the suspension.

    ?The ePassporte e-Wallet program continues to be up and running, except funds cannot be transferred between your Visa account and your e-Wallet,? Mallick said.

    ?As soon as we have more information we will be in contact with you,? he said. ?In the meantime please be assured that your funds are safe.The ePassporte team is working diligently to rectify this situation."

    Mallick said customers can contact the company through its call center for queries.

    XBIZ was unable to reach Mallick or Visa International for additional information after business hours Thursday night.

        This fucking sucks, I hope it gets resolved pretty soon (but I don't think so, I'm pretty sure ePassporte is fucked for good now)

                    And no, at least for me there has been NO emails from Epass about this, HOWEVER when you go to login to your account there is a HUGE letter sitting right there, I figure emails will go out in the morning, or shortly though

                                    wtf are you talking about. How do you think people did it before epass came along ???

                                    Checks and wire transfers for large amounts. I still pay for all my hosting accounts with checks. I pay designers or other smaller things with paypal.

                                                            We don't do much on Epass, but as luck would have it did $800 last week. Spent $400 on "back to school" expenses and was going to use the rest this weekend. Guess that's not going to happen.

                                                            A lot of people used Epass and this even if it is cleared up will take months. It will send a few more to the wall.

                                                                Hmm curious how ATM limits were decreased to $1,000 24 hours earlier. Only one person in this thread mentioned it. Seems not so "sudden and drastic" no?

                                                                Two of my biggest epass sponsors paid me yesterday too! I try and keep as little as possible in there but you can;t take it out quick enough with low limits.

                                                                To the people who keep saying stick to wires and checks for sponsor payments. It's very expensive in some countries. A wire can cost me over $40 a pop and checks are $15 each and means me standing at the teller while they do the shitload of paperwork for each one. I use wire for big sponsors like CCBill but it's just not cost effective for the tonnes of smaller programs I use.

                                                                                Now does that mean Visa is taking action against the bank or against Epassporte's account(s) with the bank?

                                                                                Asking because I know that St. Kitts Nevis Anguilla National Bank along with National Bank of Dominica Ltd. are/were part of a bailout plan for TCI Bank (Turks and Caicos) which involved them depositing $18.5 million.

                                                                                                                            But now... time to visit hundreds of sponsors and change my settings to be paid by check or wire... i was paid by most sponsors by epass and are a few thousands that i won't feel safe having in epass for a while, even if it's in the wallet.

                                                                                                                                                    There was another GFY poster who said epass was in trouble. Anyone remember this? About a month ago and everyone jumped his ass. Maybe he was banned for it, I don't recall. Epass denied they were in any trouble. Fast forward a month, the poster was correct.

Over the past few months, I have noticed a very strong migration to clients using paypal and wires and away from epass.

                                                                                                                                                                        - Their visa accounts are "abruptly suspended" with no warning and with no explaination given. Conveniently at the start of the month just before a long weekend, when the most money is on the epass system as programs are loading up their accounts to pay affiliates. As it is a long weekend, no one can get in touch with visa or anyone to confirm anything.

As it is a long weekend, no one can get in touch with visa or anyone to confirm anything.
