Valedictions are rather powerful in emails... lots of people skip on it never thinking much about it. However I have had people email me back and say: You're the first person to "ever" say, hope your day is good - let alone the random thanks and responses back I get based on which one I use. Depending on the topic/situation, I have a huge list of them I use.

I try to use it correctly, so it has more meaning. Like if you just finished a deal, I truly mean it when I say, Enjoy the rest of your day. It's Friday, Hope you have a good weekend. If we start up a convo, hope all as well, works great. The more you know about the person, the easier you can connect with them.

It's amazing what people will respond back with. Thanks for asking Doc, my day has been total hell. That's all they have to say, to relate to them and remind that that this deal/product, whatever is todays game changer. The power of motivation closes almost every deal.

In public, it works great as well. At the drive through, respond back to them ask how they're doing - it trips'em up and they get all happy someone asked. 8 out of 10 times they will thank for asking at the window.
