    Moral issue here... What do you think ?

    A photographer posted a pic from a model here, on GFY.

    I sent him an Email and asked for a shooting. She is the kind of model I need.
    One condition : I pay only after I get the content. Too many people got away with the deposit and no content at the end.


    Now, I get the content and I realize that the model is 50 pounds heavier than it seems on the pic I saw. !!!

    She is really fat : Unusable for me.

    I usually ask for many pictures before I give an ok for a shooting. This time I didn't. It didn't even cross my mind that the picture posted woudn't correspond to the real model.

    What would you do in my place ?

    Who's responsability is this ?

          I think it's deceptive as I think pictures should represent current model status. Would need to see picture presented versus what you got to be solid on my opinion as a few pounds would be okay but if an absolute cheeseburger whore now I would probably have an issue.

                                                                              Well, it's deceptive to market a model with pictures which are not current. Nonetheless, it's your responsibility to check things, ask questions and do some due dilligence. Not being happy afterwards is not reason enough to not pay. I would ask the photog if he thinks it's fair with a discount or a new shoot with another model. But not pay because you forgot to ask the necessary questions, as much as one would want business to be fun, friendly and fair, it's not and this is why you have to ask questions first.

                                                                              Try to negotiate a deal, but to not pay, that would be even more unethical than what the photog did. A discount from the photog would be fair though.

You said you didn't ask for sample pictures before the photo taking - I think you are the one who needs to see a sample.

Its the photogs responsibility to provide the client with quality content. If they over look the fact that she is now a fat cow. then its his bad and shouldnt be paid. Its happened to me and I learned that lesson the hard way.

Bit of false advertising to be showing pics as one weight and then doing a photoshoot at a noticeably larger size.                                                                                                                                                                       Personally i would pay the producer if it was just one solo set and make him/her aware of the screw-up and then never use him/her again.

                                                                                                                                                                      On the flip side you should have double checked, however the only reason for that is that most producers in todays market are utterly useless and dont have the slightest grasp of how to run a business.

I ask if its a recent picture and they say yes when its not at all.

                                                                                                                                                                                              I would probably not accept that content if I was buying as that is WAY different. She looks thick but cute in the first pic, she looks like a total mess in the second.
