Well, if what was said about salt water vs. freshwater density is true then that is moot...but I still don't quite get that.

And again if I put ice cubes in a bowl of water and piled them up above the top of the bowl...but made sure they were floating, not sitting on the bottom of the bowl...then they could melt all away and the bowl would still not overflow

I'm just talkin' by the way. I know there is some big explanation. But I'm almost sure it has to be from ice melting on land mass and then making it's way to the ocean as opposed to an iceberg floating on the ocean melting.
