This is actually a good point. Up here in Canukistan, I'd say maybe 15 years ago or so, people started pointing out how 'unpatriotic' we were compared to the Americans. You'd hear Canadians saying things like <i>"Look at the patriotism in the USA.... drive through any town, any suburban street, and you'll see American flags flying everywhere.... in windows, on car bumpers, flapping from backyard flagpoles etc..... and look at Canada.... hardly ANYONE flies our flag here"</i> I heard this from various tv personalities and average joe shitheads alike, and they were right, sadly enough.
But that's largely changed nowadays. That commentary 15+ years ago sparked a groundswell of patriotism and national pride in Canada, and although I've only seen Quebecois burning our flag, I'd have to say we're just about as militant about kicking someone's ass for doing so as our southern neighbors are.
I understand Aussies have been very dissatisfied with their government for quite a few years now, but it's one thing to despise your government....it's quite another to hate your country.
Lastly, in Joe6prick's case.... I see that there is actually so much hate and miserable attitudes in many people that claim to represent *peace*, yet I see a good number of people that value their peaceful freedom and peaceful way of life actually vehemently defending the USA's hardline stance on world bullshit. Very interesting..... yes very.
