Of course stealing it the easier option, but not if we hound them and shut down processing and go after their advertisers. Don't fool yourself the surfers on their sites are looking for anything specific. That's not the surfer they have. Nor the surfer we are signing up most of the time, otherwise retention would be better.
I agree that letting members upload it, or saying members are uploading it when in truth they are uploading it themselves, gives them a better selection and probably quality of video.

surfers are uploading the videos either from rapidshare or other hosts, and they or you dont have the rights to the videos.
so basically you keep them on, until the content owner complains?
basially all your videos are exclusive content you dont even have sponsor links too.
as i said in my earlier post, these companies spend 100's of thousand dollars shooting this content, and you are giving it away for free, without sending the sponsors any traffic.
I could see if you had some sort of links/banners on each video, but you dont.
And the traffic program, basically people embed videos and make money off stolen/ripped content?

You should be like xxxjay and his tube site, only program owners can send content that way its their with the permission of the owners, not some random person that downloaded 90 min videos from a free host

Yes we have lots of videos. Depends on the deal we agree to. But as you don't reply I assume you don't want to know. So much for your approach about looking for genuine content producers.
It's cheaper and easier to steal them.
This is proof that this guy has ZERO intentions of getting legit content on his site. We own the license to hundreds of videos, videos he can either license or do a deal on "views" did he reply? NO? IMO because he has no intention of going legit, it's just a screen so he appears to care.

We as an industry have to adapt and sites like these prove one thing. They appeal to the surfer more than we do with our present model. Well more than the $30 for 30 days model.
Truth = Very very few porn consumers want more than 30 minutes entertainment and very few want it very often. Otherwise there would be no threads or posts about a gallery giving away 20 hardcore pics or too much hardcore video as satisfying the the surfer enough to turn him off buying a membership.
Plus the BW bill of sites like Megarotic would go through the roof and sponsors BW bills would be to large to support the model we have today.
We sell a product based on our needs, not the consumers. This leaves us open to attack from people who meet the consumers needs better than we do.
Sites like AFF have zero scruples. They will pay money to sites like Megarotic knowing full well that they are thieves and breaking laws. They like Megarotic have no ethics or scruples. Sending them traffic opens you to the same charge. I wonder if they apply the same scruple to their affiliates stealing/cheating them? What would be there stand on anyone downloading all their content for a site?
Yet people will denounce sites that steal and at the same time send traffic to sites supporting thieves. This is nothing new and reminds me of the same situation with Acacia. People denouncing Acacia while sending traffic to sites who licensed with them.
Many PPV and VOD sites are knocking on my door for a "deal" on my videos. I don't do these deals but it proves they want them. Megarotic did not even bother to reply. They have no intentions of licensing. They can disprove this by showing us a few licensor's. Can they afford it or are they just to immoral to pay?
But this is the real problem. If we continue to go down the road of 30 day memberships at $30 we will lose more and more business. Sorry if your business relies on that model. But times change and if you scream about staying loyal to the old ways think about all the non exclusive content providers who closed when affiliates stopped buying content. If it was alright to move on then it's alright to move on now.Comment

Slowing down Torrent sites and sites like Megarotic is easier than you think. All it takes is a collective will from the rest of the industry. First is billing. As a content provider I know only one billing processor takes stealing content seriously. Verotel are the ONLY processor to contact me and ask if XYZ owns the license on content. Even after being shown the licenses they will come to us and ask if they are genuine.

Never been asked by anyone else. Megarotic are or were processing via CommerceGate. If they did not know the content was stolen and they were processing for thieves what are they doing in business? Are you processing via CommerceGate and if so would you pull the processing of any processor who does process payments for a site like Megarotic or a Torrent site?
All these sites cost money to run. These bills are met often by advertisers. would you pull the links of an advertiser? It really is that simple, if the advertiser lost 50% of his traffic by advertising there would be no way he would go that route. You have to take the short term loss if you want to ensure your long term future.
Would any major TGP site ban galleries for anyone sending traffic to AFF?
The problem is this industry future planning is usually no more than a few months and no one will do much to stop the growth of sites stealing content. I applaud and support those who are doing something, but I fear the most people will do is post on GFY and other boards. Yet still do business with people who do business with thieves.

They are completely legal by doing so, just like the millions of other entertainment websites, adult or mainstream.

Its one thing to go and steal someones content. or to host it under the guise and protection of the dmca for hosting companies. But if this thread is any indication, they are in violation since they admit knowledge to the content they host and dont deal with it as the dmca states.
Free hosts have been riding that shit since sites like geocities and porncity first poped up and steve easton has been chasing all those ghosts for years. I wonder if steve is chasing this asian dragon...

but the real problem was youtube.com and it's ingenious website model
youtube started a whole trend that has worked its way into all aspects of the internet
a real businessperson in this industry who is an affiliate program owner would recognize the change and capitalize on it, similar to a daytrader who watches trends and buys or sells accordingly to make the most money
i would have expected the big guys (nastydollars, bangbros, trafficcashgold) to already have come out with their own tube sites with *gasp* full videos of their own content but with the same 10 view per day limit that megarotic has, and perhaps only 5-10 minutes of content until someone buys a membership (like megarotic has, a surfer membership to view all the content without 10 per day limit. you could even just let them view 1/4th the content from each nastydollars paysite, then upsell another membership if they have a particular site they like). This would definately create huge competition for megarotic and basically provide the exact same service megarotic gives to its surfers. One site already using a derivative of this method is xvideos . com.
The surfers want their porn and lots of it all for free... so give it to them. But some of them also want more and will pay for it like they do at megarotic.. so give THAT to them too. You cant honestly tell me with a straight face that the top affiliate programs do NOT have the cash or servers to pull that off? It would be perhaps 1 year only for any one of the top 3 to create a megarotic clone that would grow to the same size.

splooge, bangbros is the type of company that should care the most, because the more their content is out there for free in larger and longer pieces, the less value that content has.
Imagine: You pay $2000 to shoot an exclusive scene for your paysite, put it on your site, and tomorrow some user has turned that into a "user generated content" submission to the tubes and torrent sites, and millions of freeloaders are enjoying it for nothing, and enjoying part of it long enough to get off without issue.
splooge, I at least like that you are looking for a business solution. But Megarotic is charging for memberships just to pay for additional bandwidth. Their business model encourages mass consumption, to a point where even at the current reduced costs of bandwidth, it is still expensive to feed the masses. It is the reason most programs that have trailers on their tours limit it to a few trailers total, to avoid the free loaders.
In the end, Youtube's business model was "let's see if we can find enough money to stay in business long enough for someone big to come along and buy us out". Now Google's version is "let's see if we can make enough money back on this to justify the legal costs, because bandwidth isn't an issue for us". The business model is entirely based on aggregative eyeballs to sell to others, with little or no actual content costs. But if the affiliate porn site model has been destroyed on the way, porn tube sites could find themselves with way to many "already got off" eyeballs and few porn buyers.
It is an interesting question, one that will likely come clearer into focus as programs decide how they want to approach their future.Comment
